For the past 28 years, Gurmat Bhawan has been committed to providing free assistance to persons with physical disabilities through regular camps held at Gurmat Bhawan and various other locations throughout the state. We conduct three to four camps annually and to date we have successfully organized 108 camps. Some assistance for these camps is provided by The Ministry Of Social Justice And Empowerment, Government Of India while a major chunk is provided by generous donors. Worth mentioning here are names of S. Surjit Singh Manila from Village Pandori (Ludhiana), S. Gurmel Singh Dhillon of Glasgow (UK) and Mr K. D. Sharma from UK.
Camp Overview
Each camp spans several days, with the first day designated as a screening day. On this day, patients undergo a comprehensive screening conducted by a specialists’ team of directors. During this, patients are categorized based on their needs for specific equipment such as tricycles, artificial limbs, hearing aids etc
Evaluation And Distribution
Patients are meticulously measured according to their disability to ensure the best fit and functionality of the equipment provided. Those in need of hearing aids, a thorough evaluation is conducted using an audio meter to ascertain the appropriate machine for each individual.
Two weeks after the initial screening, the aids and appliances are distributed to the beneficiaries. This process ensures that every patient receives personalized assistance tailored to their specific needs.
